変更されているのは色を変えているところですが、編集前のHLCを見て編集が必要であると見えるでしょうか。しかもheをyouに、himselfをyourselfに変更することによって同一人物を指しているanotherとhe(himself )が別人になってしまいました。
他にもmanをyouに書き換えたり、man自体を消去するために文の構造自体を変えて書き換えたりしてます。こんな風に、上がHLCで下がFIPです。

どうもKenneth Wapnick さんはman とか he のような性差のある言葉を消したかったようですね。
これは米国の聖書の翻訳に現れた女性に配慮した書き換えと同じ傾向のように思えます。しかし技術的に性差をもつ言葉を性差の無い言葉に文意を変えることなく変更するのはかなり難しいことです。元の意味が見えなくまで編集の手を加えるのはいうまでもなくやり過ぎです。
それでは翻訳の続きです。

この定義は出版された版の定義よりもそれほど奇妙ではない。というのもただその定義がその表面に遙かに大きな意味を持っているから。またそれは一連の段落の意味についての問題を完璧に解決している。この定義が正しいものであるということを疑う理由はほとんど見あたらない。編集者が、どういう訳にせよ、間違いを犯したことも同様である。
この一節の中に多くの小さな改変があることにも注意を払って良いだろう。私たちがしばしば見出したように、それらの改変に正当な理由があるとは思えない。何故科学的な用語の「時空」の代わりにより一般的ではあるが正確ではない「時間と空間」に改変したのだろうか？何故Textの全体にわたって「人(man)」を「あなた(you)」や「あなたやあなたの兄弟達(you and your brothers)」に入れ替えているのか？何故、あちらこちらで切り詰めて、その結果短くなったとはいえ、理解しにくい版を作り上げたのか？
